Zambian Nationals Arrested For Ivory Trafficking In Malawi
Two Zambian national were arrested in Malawi yesterday after being found in possession of ivory valued at around K175,793.
The suspects John Phiri and Julius Daka were apprehended at Kaombe police check point along the Mchinji-Mwami border where they were carrying eight pieces weighing 16.5 kg.
Their arrest, which followed a tip off, was made by a joint operation involving police and park officials from Mozambique, Zambia and Malawi.
