Zimbabwe Licenses Marijuana Cultivation

Zimbabwe has joined Lesotho to become the second country in Africa to license the cultivation of marijuana, or mbanje as it is known. Previously those caught growing or possessing the plant would have faced up to 12 years in jail.

License holders will be held on five-year renewable terms, permitting possession, transportation and the sale of fresh and dried cannabis, as well as cannabis oil.
