Inspector General Calls For More Discipline Amongst Officers
The Inspector General of Police, Kakoma Kanganja, has called for more discipline and concern for human rights amongst police officers when carrying out their duties. In an address to officers in the Chinsali district of Muchinga Province yesterday, Mr. Kanganja said adherence to discipline and codes of ethics were absolutely integral to the Police service and should not be compromised, adding that officers should always check their conduct and that they should be role models to members of the public by raising their levels of discipline.
He also urged the men and women of the Police to stop all forms of corrupt practices, as well as to avoid their participation in partisan politics.
He then praised them, however, mentioning their hard work, commitment to duty and commitment to serving the nation. He further disclosed to the officers that the Government, through the Ministry of Home Affairs, was working tirelessly to improve the conditions of service for them.
Mr. Kanganja is on a 3 day working visit to meet police officers and to inspect the progress of infrastructure construction projects in Muchinga province.
