National Political Dialogue Committee On Hold

The highly anticipated dialogue process led by the Commonwealth has hit a temporal setback as the launch of the Steering Committee scheduled for yesterday has been postponed until further notice.

Some have blamed the UPND's impeachment motion, stating that they were applying a double standard by demanding dialogue whilst pushing for the impeachment of the Republican President.

However official emails leaked from the committee state the delay was merely due to nominations for the steering committee taking longer than usual.

'Dear Excellence/Esteemed Partners

I write to inform you that the official launch of the Political Dialogue Steering Committee scheduled for Monday, 26 March 2018 has regrettably been postponed until further notice.

This decision has been necessitated by the need to allow key stakeholders to finalise their final nominations to the Steering Committee which unfortunately has taken longer than expected.

We sincerely regret the inconveniences caused by this development. We shall advise you of the new launch date in due course.

Kind regards'
