Inonge Wina In Denial Over Debt Crisis

Zambia’s Vice President Inonge Wina is seemingly in denial over our current financial state, having stated that there is NO crisis in Zambia yesterday.

“Zambia’s debt crisis is a smear campaign being pioneered by champions of own interests who want regime change, chase away foreign investors so that the donor community can lose confidence in our able administration,” remarked the Vice President.

Despite many reports outlining staggering foreign debt figures and recently unearthed evidence of widespread corruption Ms Wina claims the World Bank agrees we are not in crisis – a funny statement to make given the IMF have repeatedly denied assistance to us based on our current financial situation.

In her speech to Parliament she also noted that Finance Minister Mwanakatwe will be delivering the National Budget next week – something Zambians and the international community will be keeping a close eye on.
