Zambia Courts Saudi Investment In Agriculture

Zambia’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Ibrahim Mumba, has urged investors in the oil-rich kingdom to consider investing in Zambia’s agriculture sector.

The ambassador met with the Zambian Ministry of Agriculture and the Saudi Agricultural and Livestock Investment Company (SALIC) online on Wednesday to explore investment opportunities in the Zambian agriculture sector.

Mr Mumba highlighted the available resources in Zambia as well as key incentives in place to allow the agricultural sector to thrive and reach its maximum potential.

SALIC’s Chief Executive Officer Suleiman Al Rumaih reiterated his company’s interest in investing in Zambia’s agriculture and expressed a desire to collaborate with companies dealing in wheat, corn, soya, rice, poultry and other products.

In particular Mr Al Rumaih said SALIC was keen to partner with companies and individuals who embrace the principles of ethical and responsible investment.
