New Dawn Government Encourages Partnership In Aviation Industry
Frank Tayali, Minister of Transport and Logistics, has encouraged further partnership in Zambia’s Aviation Industry.
The aviation industry is estimated to grow by 5.3% in the next 20 years, therefore the government has outlined that the industry should rise to any obstacles that may develop.
He explained that the way in which the industry can overcome these challenges will be through joint partnerships with different players addressing different issues.
The announcement came as the Minister addressed the Civil Air Navigation Services Organisation (CANSO).
In the statement, he said, “These challenges require our collaborative effort and strong partnership as regulators, manufacturers, operators, and service providers as well as Government, if there is to be any progress in addressing the challenges.”
Further, he said, “Zambia is particularly encouraged by the tremendous efforts being made by CANSO, it is through you that Zambia and other African countries are meeting international obligations and implementing ICAO Standards and Recommended Practices (SARPS), as well as addressing civil aviation system challenges through active cooperation.”
He stated that improvements to the Zambian aviation industry are in line with the New Dawn government’s economic development agenda.
