Zambia Procures Its First Locally Registered Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft

Zambia Airways has achieved a significant milestone in its aviation history by procuring its first locally registered Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft. This move underscores the national carrier's dedication to sustainable growth and enhanced connectivity.

Transport and Logistics Minister Frank Tayali revealed this achievement during an aircraft inspection at Kenneth Kaunda International Airport (KKIA) in Lusaka. The new aircraft is poised to facilitate Zambia Airways in expanding its services, introducing scheduled flights to capital cities within the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, once all registration procedures are concluded.

Minister Tayali commended Zambia Airways for their commitment to sustainability and growth in aviation, emphasizing the significance of the Boeing 737-800NG Aircraft in enhancing both domestic and international connectivity.

The unveiling ceremony at KKIA saw the presence of key dignitaries, including Mrs. Irene Tembo, a ZACL Board Representative, and Cosam Ngoma, Acting Managing Director of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited.

Abiy Jiru, Zambia Airways Chief Executive Officer, stressed that the new aircraft would play a crucial role in maintaining high-quality standards while expanding flight offerings at competitive prices, aligning with Zambia Airways' vision of delivering excellent service to passengers.

Cosam Ngoma, Acting Managing Director of Zambia Airports Corporation Limited, reiterated the corporation's unwavering commitment to collaborating with airlines and supporting their efforts to provide efficient and reliable air travel services.
