Japan to Invest K38 Billion in Mining Industry
The Japanese Government has pledged to invest K38 billion to support Japanese investment in Zambia's mining industry.
During a bilateral meeting held in Tokyo, Japan’s Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, Saito Ken, said the Japanese Business Corporation is eager to invest in Zambia’s mining industry.
Vice Minister Taku Ishii added that the Japan Organisation for Metals and Energy Security (JOGMEC) is working with the Zambian Government on exploration projects.
Zambia’s Minister of Mines and Minerals Development, Paul Kabuswe, said the government is interested in further collaboration for investment in geological mapping to attract further interest in the sector and create jobs.
