Lusaka Man Sets Wife On Fire

A 25-year old man from Lusaka doused his wife in kerosene and set her on fire before attempting to commit suicide by ingesting unknown poisonous substances. 

Zambia Police spokesperson Esther Katongo has identified the man as Shepherd Chisala of Mtendere East. He attacked his wife, Agnes Kafupi, yesterday between 02:30 and 03:00 after an argument. 

Both Mr Chisala and Ms Kafupi were rushed to Levy Mwanawasa Hospital. Mr Chisala died that morning, while Ms Kafupi was admitted to ICU before eventually succumbing to her injuries at 05:30 this morning. 

Both bodies are now in the mortuary at Levy Mwanawasa.
