Chipata Police Not Intimidated By Coffin Threat
Police in Eastern Province have said they are not intimidated by a small coffin which was dumped at Chipata Central Police station by an unknown person last week.
The small coffin included a note demanding that the sender’s son be released from police custody within 48 hours.
Eastern Province Police Commissioner Luckson Sakala said the police had not been intimidated by the incident and believed it was a sign that they were doing their job properly.
“The one who dropped the coffin is just wasting his time because we’ve previously arrested witches. We are actually made to be even more stronger now. This is an indication that we are doing a good job that is even scaring witches,” he said.
The police commissioner also stated that the coffin has since been burned.
