Covid-19 Deaths Swell, 18 Dead In Past Two Weeks

Zambia has recorded 324 new Covid-19 cases, including 18 deaths, in the last two weeks, Health Minister Chitalu Chilufya said on Tuesday. 

Speaking at a media briefing, Dr Chilufya announced that Zambia’s Covid-19 death toll now stands at 42. The total number of Covid-19 cases in Zambia is 1,895 as of Thursday morning. 

The health minister also declared Lusaka the new Covid-19 hotspot, with 31 of the 42 deaths occurring in the capital. People are encouraged not to drop their guard on preventative measures.

Dr Chilufya announced that in the same 11 days, 153 people have recovered from the virus, bringing the total to 1412.
