COVID-19 Update: 91 New Cases Confirmed
In the last 24 hours Zambia has recorded 91 new cases of COVID-19 out of a total of 599 tests.
No more deaths and 294 recoveries were recorded in the same period.
The 91 cases include:
Thirty-four (34) contacts to known cases in: Lusaka (31); Ndola (2); Kitwe (1).
Thirty (30) individuals identified through hospital screening in: Lusaka (20); Ndola (10)
Twenty-seven (27) individuals identified through routine screening in: Lusaka (25); Ndola (2)
The cumulative cases as of Monday 24th August stood at 11,148 including 280 deaths and 10,208 recoveries.
There has been no further update on the health of vice president Inonge Wina, who was confirmed to have tested positive for the virus last week. Previous statements by Minister of Health Dr Chitalu Chilufya suggest the VP is in a stable condition.
