Amos Chanda Denies Owning 15 Homes and Calls the ACC Allegation a Fabrication
Amos Chanda, a former State House Press Aide, has called the Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) allegations saying that he owns 15 properties a complete lie. These houses are suspected to be proceeds of crime.
Previously, Mr Chanda had already been warned and cautioned in connection with the holding of 15 properties.
Mr Chanda, on the other hand, expressed surprise at the Commission's persistent habit of "obnoxious lying" in a statement released Friday night.
He said, “I can confirm that today [Yesterday] the ACC summoned me and presented me with a list over 30 properties and mining licenses which they alleged belonged to me. I exercised my right to remain silent because of all those properties I could only recognize four title deeds in my name, two of which are developed and the others are just bare land acquired from the Ministry of Lands and various councils.”
Mr Chanda has subsequently challenged the Commission to name all of the alleged properties, including their titles, locations, and actual addresses.
He further noted, “It is a shame that a state institution would have no shame to lie. I have always said ACC must present their case before a competent court but it appears they enjoy malicious attacks on my integrity.”
Mr. Chanda stated that he will seek legal counsel on the Commission's claims against him.
