Woman Sentenced To Two Years In Jail After Attacking Another Member of Her Own Polygamous Relationship

A 34-year-old woman has been sentenced to two years in jail after she attacked another woman in their polygamous relationship.

It was heard that the woman assaulted the other using kitchen utensils.

The woman, named Agness Tembo, attacked Dorothy Phiri after finding her husband had moved in with his second wife. The argument started when Tembo discovered that her husband had purchased new household goods for his second wife.

Tembo allegedly beat Phiri with a stick and she was left bleeding.

The womens’ husband subsequently broke off the fight.

The attack was then reported to the neighbourhood watch who then took it to the police.

However, before the authorities arrested her, Tembo took herself into custody pleading guilty to causing actual bodily harm.

Following a hearing in a circuit court in Vubwi District, Tembo was sentenced to two years in prison.
