ZAM Appeals To EU For Support For The Manufacturing Sector
The Zambia Association of Manufacturers (ZAM) has appealed to the European Union (EU) to support the Zambian manufacturing industry. They asked the EU to aid them in gaining access to the European market by removing all non-tariff barriers.
Ashu Sagar, The Association President, explained that Zambia could be a key solution to the current supply issues and called on the delegation to assist them in taking up this opportunity.
New Teachers Set To Start In July 2022
The New Dawn government has announced that the 30,000 teachers that are currently being recruited will start in July this year.
Douglas Siakalima, the Minister of Education, has outlined that there are already funds allocated to their wages and that the employment of more teachers will help Zambia to overcome its current teacher deficit.
President HH Calls For More EU Investment
President Hakiande Hichilema has called for the EU to invest more in Zambia.
In his speech, he outlined that the current 1.6 billion euro investment was insufficient.
The president also explained that he will ask the trading block to increase their investment to 5 billion euros in order to enhance the country’s economy.
