PRESIDENT HH PROMISES TO LOWER THE COST OF FERTILISER

Today the president outlined that the government is working hard with farmers and fertilizer suppliers to reduce the cost of fertilisers.

He also outlined that he is looking to see how the product can be produced locally.

Further, he explained that the government would work to ensure that challenges such as the rising cost of food are resolved.




MINISTER OUTLINES IMPORTANCE OF TOURISM SECTOR TO BOOST ECONOMY

The Ministry of Tourism’s Permanent Secretary, Evans Muhanga, has outlined that the tourism sector could be the key to supporting Zambian economic development.

He said that this could be done through the creation of strong partnerships with other government ministries to create the utilities and infrastructure that would be beneficial to the sector.

He also said that local government plays a critical role in opening up to new possibilities and ways of doing business to ensure that the sector can thrive.

 

150 OFFICERS PROMOTED BY THE POLICE SERVICE COMMISSION IN SOUTHERN PROVINCE

150 Officers, in various ranks, have been promoted by the Police Service Commission in Zambia.

Peter Machungwa has said that the promotion was a result of exceptional commitment to the force.

The news came during a tour by the Commission which aimed to put into operation the decentralised policy which has been created by the Constitution Act Number Two 0f 2016 and Act Number 10 Of The Service Commission Act.
