ZAMBIA BREWERIES OUTLINE AN $80 MILLION INVESTMENT PLAN
Zambian Breweries have outlined plans to invest $80 million into their Lusaka Plant over the next 18 months.
The news was announced by Zambian Breweries Country Director, Michelle Kilpin.
The Director explained that the friendly investment environment created by the New Dawn Government is what attracted the investment by the firm.
PRESIDENT HICHILEMA THANKS WORLD BANK
President Hakainde Hichilema has thanked the World Bank for enabling Zambia to continue with its economic restoration programme.
The president also praised the bank for supporting the country’s goal to restore its debt through the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The announcement came as the World Bank Group Managing Director, Anshula Kent met with the President at State House.
160 ARRESTED IN EASTERN PROVINCE FOR DRUG-RELATED OFFENCES
The Drug Enforcement Commission has arrested 160 people since January on drug trafficking charges in Eastern Province.
The Commission has also seized six tonnes of cannabis in the region.
The Eastern Province Drug Enforcement Commission Regional Commander, Charles Ndulumina, announced the statistics during this year’s World Anti-Drug Day.
