Zambia Ready to Collaborate on Food and Energy Solutions

President Hakainde Hichilema has announced that Zambia is willing to collaborate with partners in beginning to address food and energy shortages.

Acting Foreign Affairs Minister Mulambo Haimbe relayed the President’s sentiments at the Korea-Africa Summit. He mentioned President Hichilema’s plans for funding irrigation projects, building canals and dams, setting up water harvesting systems, and expanding Zambia’s use of energey resources.

Minister Haimbe also reinforced President Hichilema’s gratitude for South Korea’s invaluable contributions in support of advancing Zambia’s socio-economic prosperity, particularly through initiatives guided towards capacity building in various sectors.

The president further wished to commend South Korea’s invaluable commitment to increasing trade and investment in Africa through the expanded Official Development Assistance of up to $10 billion.
