Kidnapped Lusaka Priest rescued

Owen Silozi, a 39-year-old pastor from the Miracle Centre of Fire International in John Laing was abducted by five suspected criminals on 15 July.

A police deputy spokesperson Danny Mwale said, “The pastor left home and was met by four men at church. He was then bundled into a nearby motor vehicle.”

The white Toyota Allion drove towards Kafue road, before the abductors telephoned his wife, demanding a ransom of K10,000.

After the police were alerted at around 7:00, the suspects were intercepted in Kanyama, and Silozi was rescued.

He is reported to have suffered a large cut to the head. Police were shown to a house in Makeni Villa where the victim is alleged to have been tortured.

Two people have been arrested in connection to the abduction.
