President Hichilema Commemorates National Youth Day
President Hakainde Hichilema visited Mongu Central Constituency on Wednesday to commemorate National Youth Day.
During his visit to the constituency, the President visited Limulunga Primary School, Limulunga Palace, and the Cenotaph.
Speaking at the official National Youth Day Commemoration, which saw thousands of youth in attendance from school across the area, President Hichilema thanked the youth for their “commitment and energy” to struggles which the country has faced. He added that, under his government, the youth have benefitted in a variety of ways including free education, meal allowances, and scholarships.
Youth Day is commemorated to recall the day in 1962 when young people were killed during the independence movement. The day is focused on celebrating young people, highlighting the important contribution that they provide to the country.
