Ministers' Spouses Association and First Lady Refurbish Ndola Shelter

The office of the First Lady, in collaboration with the Ministers’ Spouses Association, have recently refurbished the mother’s shelter at Ndola Teaching Hospital.

The collaborative effort spent over 200,000 Kwacha on the project to equip the shelter with updated facilities including washing facilities as well as beds and cooking equipment.

“By improving the conditions at this shelter, we are reaffirming the belief that nobody should have to endure additional hardship while caring for a sick family member,” Acting Vice Chairperson of the Ministers’ Spouses Association, Sherly Tayali, commented. Tayali added that she hopes the improvements bring relief, comfort and renewed hope to those who pass through the institution.

The updates align with government’s initiatives to improve healthcare services around the country.
