Lusambo Supplying Ghost Members to PF – Gerald Chiluba

Former MMD die-hard youth national coordinator Bowman Lusambo stands accused of supplying the PF with ghost members by his successor to the role Gerald Chiluba.

Chiluba has described defections as being stage managed, in an attempt by Lusambo, who now serves in President Lungu’s government as Lusaka Province Minister, to curry favour with the President.

Responding to reports of the defection Chilbua stated: “We want to distance our party from the purported defections which took place on Sunday. There is unverified information circulating on social media and other media platforms that the leadership of MMD led by Amos Nyirenda in Lusaka province has defected to the Patriotic Front.

We want to clarify that the MMD had no such leaders serving at provincial level or at whatever level as suggested by media reports. That was simply a group of imposters who wanted to use the MMD to make some money.

We therefore want to urge the members of the public and the media fraternity to treat the information of defections as fake, because it does not in anyway hold any element of truth, it is purely propaganda and we want to urge the PF to embark on a genuine drive of recruitment of members as it is the only weapon to increasing the membership of any party.”

Lusambo is no stranger to controversy and has been serving a 30 day suspension served by the Speaker of the National Assembly Patrick Matibini last month following an incident in which he assaulted former PF Minister Chishimba Kambwili.

MMD structures remain chaotic since the splintering of the party between former president Rupiah Banda and Nevers Mumba. Many loyal to the former have since defected to the PF however.
