Angola, Zambia abolish visa requirements

Zambia and Angola have abolished visa requirements for diplomatic, official, and ordinary passport holders.

Announcing the development yesterday, acting home affairs minister Michael Katambo said all the legal formalities had been concluded and the agreement would come into effect today.

Katambo said the abolishing of Visa requirements would further open business opportunities between the countries.

Angolan Ambassador to Zambia Bilbina da Silva said from today onwards, citizens of both countries can travel without a visa for a minimum of 30 days.

However, Ambassador da Silva said the agreement would not apply to citizens who seeking work, residence, study, or travelling for medical purposes.

She said the opening of the border between the two neighbouring countries reflected the good leadership between Angolan President Joao Lourenco and his Zambian counterpart Edgar Lungu
