Dear Editor, Why Are The Chinese Working Without Permits?

Dear Editor,

One issue regarding China and Zambia which I have not seen mentioned is: We have seen a number of photos of Chinese selling in the markets, running hair salons, etc. Don’t we still have laws about work permits for foreigners?

If a company wants to employ a foreigner they have to prove that the person has a skill that is not found among local people.

Work permits are issues for specific jobs and can’t be transfered without reapplying.

Do we have one law for the Chinese and another for other foreigners?
