HH Implores PF To Respect Journalists Rights

Hakainde Hichilema has called on the Patriotic Front to be more respectful of journalists, and their rights and freedoms. This comes not long after a plea was made to release veteran journalist and blogger Derick Sinjela from incarceration.

The Opposition Leader stated that it was an ‘abrogation of media freedom’ for the PF government to verbaslly and physically stack journalists. On Saturday PF Decretary General Davis Mwila verbally attacked and chased two Prime Television Journalists from covering a PF briefing.

Hichilema impressed that journalsits must be respected and the PF must allow the media to perform their duty and inform the nation of what is going on in government. The PF have continually attempted to stifle private media which has led to intense
