Yesterday 10 opposition politicians including UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema. At a press conference held in Lusaka the opposition accused President Lungu and Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo of ordering militias to attack the opposition during the recent by-election in Sesheke.

They announced that they would be reporting President Lungu and a number of governing party officials to the International Criminal Court in The Hague for instigating political violence.

No one from the PF has responded to these allegations, despite many human rights groups noting that oppression has increased markedly during President Lungu’s four years in office.
