Prime TV Appeals Licence Suspension
The Director of Prime Television has appealed against the IBA’s decision to suspend the private broadcaster’s licence for 30 days.
Gerald Shawa appealed to the Minister of Information and Broadcasting Services Dora Siliya and stated that the suspension is not the correct remedy for what the IBA have deemed unprofessional practice by Prime Television.
Shawa impressed on Siliya that this decision would have serious economic effects on the broadcaster and its staff. He has asked the Minister to review the action and reduce it to a warning rather than put peoples jobs and the broadcasters long term
