Former North Western Province Minister Ditches PF For UPND

Former North-Western Province minister Dawson Kafwaya has left the Patriotic Front party to rejoin the UPND.

Mr Kafwaya, who currently serves as member of parliament for Solwezi Central, made the announcement at the UPND Secretariat in Solwezi. He said he wanted to return to the party that had that had given him his first taste of politics.

“I have come back not to ask for any position in the party but as an ordinary member so that together we grow our party,” he said.

The former minister added that although his move would doubtlessly attract followers to the UPND, he would nevertheless work tirelessly to expand party membership even further.

Mr Kafwaya said he regretted previously leaving the UPND, which had supported him for so long, but said that he was confident the party would form a government next year under president Hakainde Hichilema.

“I can assure you come next year, HH and the UPND are forming [a] government without fail. All we need to do is to continue selling the party manifesto,” he said.
