PF Member To Report HH To Police For Insulting President
PF Central Committee member Kebby Mbewe has announced he will report UPND leader Hakainde Hichilema to the police today for insulting the head of state, President Lungu.
Mr Mbewe has said that the PF will not sit idly by and allow Mr Hichilema to continue insulting Zambians, adding that the law must be enforced to prevent HH from using ‘unpalatable language’.
The UPND president is accused of insulting the president and his late mother at a rally in Pemba on Friday.
At the rally Mr Hichilema told supporters that he was being persecuted by President Lungu’s government because he sought to liberate the Zambian people from the shackles of poverty.
“We have suffered enough, we have been jailed for long, but we don’t retreat because we are doing it to liberate you,” he said.
A member of the PF’s National Mobilisation Committee, Bizwell Mutale, has also criticised the opposition leader for insulting women at his rally. He said such attacks against women were completely unacceptable and that Mr Hichilema would need prayers and God’s guidance.
