Kampyongo Orders Arrest Of Any Political Cadres In Military Attire
Home Affairs Minister Stephen Kampyongo has ordered police to clamp down on any political party cadres wearing military attire, after several warnings to parties for allowing their members to pose as militia.
Mr Kampyongo said it was time for police to enforce the law and arrest any cadre found in military dress - irrespective of their political affiliation.
The minister said that the disturbing trend should be stopped before the 2021 general election in particular as it has the potential to incite political violence.
Mr Kampyongo’s comments were addressed to journalists after the official opening of a stakeholder’s engagement workshop for the correctional service bill yesterday.
