Pilato Blasts Lusambo For Wearing Mask Incorrectly
Popular musician and political activist Pilato has criticised Lusaka Minister Bowman Lusambo for wearing his Covid-19 mask incorrectly in a billboard designed to inform Zambians on how to protect themselves from the virus.
Posting on Facebook, Pilato wrote:
“I am appealing to the Zambian public and the people of Kabushi in particular, please this is not the correct use of your face mask. This is misleading and must be pulled down”.
“Face masks are not chin guards, this billboard alone has the potential of misleading thousands of young people who may look at this picture as a demonstration of how to wear face mask. I do understand the Horrible MP is trying to appear better but this is dangerous to our people. Pull this rubbish down now,” he added.
The billboard, which is situated in Kabushi constituency, depicts the Lusaka Province Minister wearing his mask over his chin, while his mouth and nose remain uncovered.
Wearing a mask in this manner offers no degree of protection from the coronavirus, which generally enters the body through the nose and mouth.
Posting on Facebook shortly after the billboards were erected, Mr Lusambo said it was important to send the right message to Zambians about the virus.
“As a leader and one of the survivors of Covid-19, it is my responsibility to remind the people to do the correct thing and mask up, social distance and sanitize their hands”.
The total number of Covid-19 cases in Zambia currently stands at 9,343, with 260 deaths.
