Avoid Political Donations – Bishop Chisanga
Mansa Diocesan Bishop Patrick Chisanga has urged politicians not to use holy celebrations as opportunities to supply tactical donations to the church.
Chisanga, along with several other Bishops within Zambia, is sure that these donations are given to entice individuals around the country to vote for these parties on election day in August.
Alongside urging politicians not to provide these donations, Chisanga also urged priests to avoid these donations if they were offered.
The Bishop made these statements during Chrism Mass on Tuesday whereby priests were advised not to become involved in partisan politics. Chisanga reminded priests that they are a father to all, no matter what their political affiliations are.
Bishop Chisanga commended the work which priests have carried out during the pandemic, adding that they were frontline workers who continued to serve the people of God during the pandemic.
