Lungu Sole Candidate To Go Into PF General Conference
Edgar Lungu was the only individual to apply for Presidency of the PF in the run up to the elections on 12th August.
PF Secretary General Davies Mwila announced that anyone who wanted to stand as party President for the PF must submit a letter of application to himself from Wednesday 8am to Thursday 5pm.
Mwila later announced that nobody had filed for PF Presidency other than President Edgar Changwa Lungu.
The PF National Chairperson also announced that members that were in good standing with the Party on the as of the 28th February 2021 would be deemed eligible delegates to be allowed to participate in the National Council and General Conference.
“Considering that Party unity is essential as we head into the 2021 General Elections, and in the interests of broad participation by all members in Party affairs, I hereby declare a moratorium on all disciplinary cases that have arisen from 28th February 2021 to date. In this regard, I direct that all members who were in good standing with the Party as at 28th February, 2021 be deemed as eligible delegates and; be allowed to participate in the National Council and General Conference, respectively,” he said.
