PF Promises More Of The Same At Manifesto Launch
President Lungu and the Patriotic Front have today launched the party’s 2021-2026 manifesto at a ceremony held at Mulungushi International Conference Centre.
Drawing on the PF’s ten years in power the President promised more of the same under a renewed covenant between the PF and the Zambian people. The theme of the manifesto is "Making every Zambian count, continuing for a prosperous, peaceful, stable and an all inclusive Zambia."
The President expressed confidence that the PF could turn the economy around and deliver a return to growth despite current troubles. He also said that the Government would pay its debts, despite the recent debt default recorded in November last year when it failed to make an outstanding payment on one of its Eurobonds.
President Lungu also addressed problems raised in recent Auditor General’s Report, saying that cases would be prosecuted as part of the fight against corruption.
The PF is pinning its re-election hopes on its infrastructure development projects and promising more of the same. During the event President Lungu directed PF Secretary General Davies Mwila to make the document available to aspiring candidates.
The launch followed the release of the UPND manifesto earlier this month which instead commits to delivering change for the people. The opposition alliance has pledged to fix the economy in order to create jobs and reduce the cost of living, which has risen rapidly in recent times.
