Founding President Kenneth Kaunda Dies

Zambia’s first president and founding father, Dr Kenneth David Buchizya Kaunda has passed away in Lusaka today.  

Sharing the news on his Facebook page, United Party for National Development President Hakainde Hichilema said that Mr Kaunda “passed away peacefully in Lusaka today, after a short illness.”

Mr Hichilema to expressed his condolences to the Kaunda family and prayed for strength as they start to come to terms with the sad loss.

Mr Kaunda was admitted to hospital on Monday this week and treated for pneumonia.
