Jubilation as HH Visits Kabwe
United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema yesterday visited the Copperbelt town of Kabwe.
After filing his nomination for the August 12 general elections only a few weeks ago, Mr Hichilema has already visited Kabwe to spread the word of his manifesto during his campaign.
Large crowds were drawn to the event, which Zambian Watchdog described as a “jubilation”.
A video posted onto their website shows crowds cheering and cars beeping their horns, as a large group of supporters followed Mr Hichilema and his entourage through the town.
After opposing President Lungu’s rally ban as a result of the ‘hypocrisy’ which the Patriotic Front demonstrated by announcing the ban at their own mass event, the President of the UPND carried out his visit in line with COVID-19 protocols. Mr Hichilema had a mask on himself at all times, which was worn when outside of his personal vehicle.
