Violence Won't Work, Protect One Another – HH
UPND Alliance presidential candidate Hakainde Hichilema (HH) has this morning addressed the media from his residence as he claims the PF are continuing with roadshows despite public health measures relating to COVID-19.
HH addressed rising intimidation and political violence by restating his calls for UPND Alliance supporters to campaign peacefully and safely.
“Violence will not work,” HH reassured supporters. “None of our members should start violence,” he continued.
Instead, he called on citizens to “protect one another.”
“We are in the majority. The thugs are few. The corrupt are few. Hold on for another 30 days. Change is coming,” he stated.
HH also addressed men and women in uniform, asking them to “protect your fellow citizens and protect the constitution.”
He stressed that the UPND Alliance believes that “all Zambians deserve a better life.”
The presidential aspirant went on to appoint everyone a campaign manager for the UPND Alliance and for change. According to HH the PF may attempt to manipulate the elections but that they cannot stop change because that is what the majority of Zambians want.
HH stressed the unity and importance of citizens standing together ahead of the upcoming elections. “We are one family as citizens of Zambia…By God putting us together in this country we are one.”
