PF, Police And ECZ Are One Entity – Nkombo

UPND Chairman for elections Gary Nkombo has said that he is sure the Patriotic Front (PF), police and Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) are all one entity, following rumours spread by the PF Government that the police had been infiltrated by the opposition.

Speaking during an interview, Nkombo clarified that the PF had been lying about the police supposedly being infiltrated by the UPND.

“Those are PF tricks. It is a lie…As far as we are concerned, PF, police and the Electoral Commission of Zambia is one entity,” he said.

The UPND Chairman also revealed that a number of party members have been wrongly imprisoned in the lead up to the coming election, as a result of the PF working closely alongside the police.

“You can check how many PF supporters are in the cells and how many UPND supporters are in the cells. They should not lie to the public.”

His comments follow a string of wrongful imprisonments of UPND members, including party leader Hakainde Hichilema, by the PF government. Mr Hichilema has been wrongfully imprisoned on a number of occasions, including a spell of 127 days in prison in which he was routinely mistreated and tortured by prison guards under the instruction of the PF.
