Tony Blair Visit A Mark Of Confidence In New Administration - Kakubo
Minister of Foreign Affairs Stanley Kakubo has said the ongoing visit from former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is a mark of confidence in the new UPND administration.
Mr Blair visited the minister last night ahead of a consultative meeting with President Hichilema at State House later today. The former prime minister is visiting on behalf of his foundation, the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change, which seeks to support political leaders and government in building open and inclusive societies.
Mr Kakubo said the visit presented an opportunity for the new UPND government to engage with strategic partners and achieve its goal of economic transformation to benefit the people of Zambia.
Mr Blair served as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 1997 and 2007, overseeing a period of uninterrupted economic growth in the country. His foundation now works in 14 African countries, as well as the UK, USA, UAE, Serbia and Israel.
