President Hichilema Welcomes Namibian President

President Hakainde Hichilema has welcomed Namibian President, Hage Geingob to Zambia to partake in independence day celebrations.

President Geingob arrived at the Kenneth Kaunda International airport yesterday afternoon.

Following his arrival, he was met by President Hichilema and First Lady, Mutinta Hichilema.

Others visiting alongside the Namibian president included Minister of Justice Mulambo Haimbe and other senior government officials.

Both presidents attended a 21-gun salute and some traditional Zambian entertainment before leaving to have bilateral meetings.

President Geingob will also be the guest of honour at the 58th Independence Anniversary Commemorations which will take place tonight.

Additionally, the Namibian President will participate in laying the wreath at the Freedom Statue in honour of Zambia’s fallen heroes.

The visit marks another positive step in the countries’ relations following President Hichilema’s visit to Namibia’s International Trade Expo.
