Zambia And The EU To Improve Ties
An economic forum will be hosted by Mary Kachepa-Zambia and the European Union with the goal of increasing and exploring trade and investment prospects.
The Economic Forum will be held in Lusaka from May 18 to 19, 2022, with the topic of "economic transformation via green growth."
During the launch in Lusaka today, Commerce, Trade and Industry Minister CHIPOKA MULENGA stated that the government's priority is to attract bilateral and multilateral investments that would add value to Zambia's economy and transfer skills.
Mr MULENGA claims that exporting out raw materials has not benefited Zambia because the final goods are ten times more expensive.
He explained that the Economic Forum will bring together entrepreneurs, corporate institutions, and innovators from Zambia and the EU to debate and explore investment opportunities as well as form collaborations.
Mr Mulenga stated that the EU is a vital investment and trade partner that has contributed greatly to Zambia's long-term progress in all areas.
Meanwhile, Jacek Jankowski, the EU's Head of Delegation in Zambia, stated that the objective is to attract private sector investment and business possibilities that would help the country prosper and create jobs.
