Zambia And India Sign Contract For New State Of The Art Medical Facility

Yesterday, Zambia and India signed a deal to construct a state-of-the-art medical facility in Zambia.

The facility will provide quality healthcare and offer specialised treatment to both Zambian and international clients.

The deal was signed by Vice President Mutale Nalumango and the Apollo Hospital Management company in New Delhi, India.

Apollo Hospitals have over 70 hospitals and over 4,500 pharmacies as well as medical schools, nursing care establishments and medical care for complex problems in India.

The announcement came after the Vice President had visited India to discuss areas of mutual interest.

Mrs Nalumango explained that the deal is a reflection of the New Dawn Government’s commitment to ensuring universal healthcare and meeting the country’s development goals.

Further, she stated that Zambia is located in a prime position within the region, where it is easily accessible and can, therefore, provide quality healthcare to a range of neighbouring countries.

The Director of Medical Services, Shanti Sausal, said that the hospitals would be equipped with highly trained staff who have performed ground-breaking surgeries.
