President Hichilema Arrives In Angola

Yesterday, President  Hakainde Hichilema arrived in Angola ahead of the inauguration ceremony of  Joao Lourenco, the country’s newly elected president.

President Hichilema touched down in Angola yesterday morning at 10 am. 

He was subsequently received by Domingos Custodio Veila Lopes,  Angola’s Secretary of State for Cooperation, and Lawrence Chalungumana, Zambia’s Ambassador to Angola.

President Hichilema is some of several regional leaders who will be attending the inauguration.

The ceremony will take place at Antonio Agostinho Neto Memorial Park in Angola’s capital, Luanda.

The incoming Angolan president, from the People’s Movement for the Liberation of Angola (MPLA) won his second term following elections held in August,

The MPLA won against the opposition party: the National Union for the Total Independence of Angola (UNITA).
