HH Meets With German Chancellor To Enhance Collaboration Between The Two Countries

President Hakainde Hichilema engaged in bilateral discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz at the 5th G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Summit in Berlin, focusing on enhancing collaboration between Zambia and Germany.

The talks, conducted on the side-lines of the summit, explored potential German involvement in infrastructure projects and the encouragement of German businesses to invest in value addition within Zambia’s agriculture sector.

Chancellor Scholz conveyed Germany’s willingness to participate in infrastructure initiatives, aligning with Zambia’s economic development goals. President Hichilema urged German investors to explore opportunities in advancing the value chain of Zambia’s agricultural sector.

Both leaders underscored the longstanding bilateral relations between their nations and expressed their dedication to further deepening cooperation across various domains, with a focus on creating mutual partnerships for the benefit of the Zambian people.

President Hichilema's visit to Germany aligns with his economic diplomacy agenda, aiming to secure trade and investment opportunities for Zambia. The G20 Compact with Africa Conference serves as a pivotal platform for attracting private investment by improving conditions for sustainable business growth and infrastructure development in African countries.

State House Chief Communications Specialist Clayson Hamasaka emphasised Zambia’s participation, highlighting its natural resources, youthful population, and stable political climate as attractive factors for private investment. 

President Hichilema's economic policy reform agenda aims to position Zambia as an active participant in global economic forums, fostering partnerships and unlocking opportunities for sustainable development.
