Chinese Firm Invests K717M In Lusaka Pharmaceutical Plant
A Pharmaceutical Company, V. L Healthnet Services Limited is expected to begin manufacturing medicines in the country before 2026.
Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet for Finance and Economic Development, Siazongo Siakalenge, toured the construction site of the medicine manufacturing factory in Lusaka with V.L Healthnet Services Board Chairperson Li Ru Song.
Dr. Li says the investment is worth K717 million, with the factory preparing to produce products including IV fluids, injectable medicines, and antibiotics.
The company has 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Dr. Li praised the country’s positive investment environment, saying that Zambia’s development opportunities are the reason the company has opted to venture into local manufacturing of medicines.
