Kasomeno-Mwenda Toll Road Project Finalised
The Kasomeno-Mwenda Toll Road Project has finalised its contract as GED Africa, the project's concession holder, has signed an agreement with China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. The contract involves constructing a 184 km road from Kasomeno in the Democratic Republic of Congo to Mwenda in Luapula Province.
The contract, part of a wider K6.1 billion project, also includes the construction of a bridge and a one-stop border post in both countries. Klaus Findt, CEO of GED Africa, has announced that work on the road project will begin in June this year and is expected to last for three years.
According to Mr. Findt, the road project will improve regional cooperation.
