UPND Receives Defectors Praising CDF Rollout

Over 300 members from opposition political parties in Petauke District have defected to the UPND.

The defectors, led by PF Mbala Ward Information and Publicity Secretary Michael Mwenda, said people are happy with the works exhibited by the UPND.

Mwenda told ZNBC that local people are actively benefitting from the Constituency Development Fund, which was not the case in the past.

One defector said of the scheme, which has been implemented for over 10,000 community projects since 2022, “We have come to work with the UNPD government … we are happy with CDF projects”

The UPND continues to receive newcomers in the Eastern Province, and the Presidential Mobilisation Team is making efforts to attract as many people as possible to the party.

UPND Secretary General Gertrude Imenda told reporters, “We have only one President and that president is Hakained Hichilema.”
