Zambia recently took part in the 42nd virtual session of the AUDA-NEPAD Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee Meeting, chaired by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. This high-level platform brought together African leaders to assess key developmental initiatives and strategies aimed at fostering sustainable growth across the continent.
Discussions focused on major challenges, including poverty, unemployment, and food, water, and energy security. Leaders also reviewed the progress of the African Development Fund feasibility study and the second ten-year implementation plan for Agenda 2063. These initiatives are central to Africa’s long-term economic transformation and resilience.
Representing Zambia, President Hakainde Hichilema emphasised the country’s dedication to skills development and innovation as drivers of economic empowerment. He highlighted Zambia’s preparations to host the 2025 World Skills Africa Competition and Conference Day in Livingstone from April 7 to 12.
