Chipolopolo vs Guinea Bissau Round Two
The Zambia national team will again face Guinea Bissau as part of the qualifiers for the Cameroon 2019 Africa Cup of Nations. The match is scheduled for 1900 Sunday.
On Wednesday Zambia beat Guinea Bissau 2-1 at National Heroes Stadium with goals from Stoppilla Sunzu and Justin Shonga for Zambia and Frederic Mendy scoring for Guinea Bissau.
Speaking following Wednesday’s match Chipolopolo coach Sven Vandenbroeck says his team needs to mature in terms of managing a lead.
“In the end you still do not have the advantage, the relief will come when we qualify, until then we’re still in a race of six games and next Sunday the game is more important that today. We knew what we had to do today and we brought that task to a good end,” he said.
“For the past two days we could feel the tension getting higher, even on my way to work this morning people were banging on my car cheering, encouraging. It gives you 20 percent, maybe more courage and encouragement and confidence, I have to say we won and we were very happy with the atmosphere after the win,” Vandenbroeck added.
The team arrived in Guinea Bissau Thursday, touching down at Osvaldo Viera international airport at 2145 Zambian time.
